CHAT DEMANDS IMPROMPTU IC PARTY FOR THE WIN AND THE LULZ

LET'S GO!  JOIN IN!

At the end of the day, your character is led back to their room in the usual manner.  The nurse's hand reaches for the doorknob and the door swings open, then--

Poof!

Your character appears in a large ballroom with an exquisitely tiled floor and a large stone fountain in the center.  The centerpiece of the fountain, shaped like a large fish, continually emits a spray of glitter from its open mouth.  Several tables covered with crisp white tablecloths are positioned near the walls, and a jar of sharpie brand glitter-paint markers serves as a colorful centerpiece for each.

Against the far wall is a long, rectangular table, with two bowls of red punch.  A sign written in fancy calligraphy rests against each: Yes, and No.  In addition to the punch, there are bottles of every liquor imaginable, as well as several fine wines and packs of cigarettes (though partygoers will have to fight for a single lighter).

The bathroom to one side bears a creepy resemblance to the bathroom in a normal house, complete with a medicine cabinet worthy of a lonely 50's housewife.

On the other side are a series of doors leading to rooms.

CURRENT SUB-ROOMS:

Bathroom
Office
Room of Mystical Legal Aging
Vegas Hotel
Broom Closet
Walk-in Freezer

If your character goes into a room, please put that room in the subject line.  Rooms are lockable.  If you want a room that isn't listed, tell me and I'll give it to you.  XD

Since this is not an actual [livejournal.com profile] damned event and is not srs bzns, feel free to join in with a character that from another rp if you're a potential player.  If this is the case, instead of entering through a door in the institute, your player would enter through a random door in the RP from whence they came.  XD  EDIT:  Party is now also for trying out potential characters.

The YES punch smells and tastes alcoholic, and has the same effect as a normal spiked drink.  The NO punch smells and tastes like normal non-alcoholic party punch.  IF YOUR CHARACTER DRINKS THE NO PUNCH, IM ME AT QUANTIFYTHIS AND I WILL TELL YOU ITS EFFECT.

THE FIRST RULE OF THE PARTY IS DON'T BE LAME.  THE SECOND RULE OF THE PARTY IS SRSLY, DON'T BE LAME.

(music will be updated when Allie is not lazy and people give requests)

SMALL PRINT:  Powers and weapons are go as long as whoever you're using them on is cool with it.  Continuity from previous damned parties is intact if you want it to be, or not intact if you don't want it to be.  Clothing is whatever your character wore in canon, whatever they should have worn in canon, whatever they wore in their rp game, or whatever isn't in the dryer.  This impromptu chat party will last until everyone gets bored.

"Some greeting." That wasn't really the reaction he expected. Cliff tried to recall the last 24 hours or so, but all he could remember was drinking and fighting with Yohji the night before then nothing solid. He thought for sure he'd slept through the day or something. One day couldn't have freaked the kid out that much right?

Yohji was still looking at him like he'd grown another head courtesy of the institute. Cliff rubbed the back of his neck, partially to make sure that wasn't the case. Ok ok, there was something he wasn't getting here. "I know this place is kinda...sparkly, but hold off on the alcohol for a second. What happened?"

[He's in his bare-chested mission outfit btw ^_~]

Well, what had he expected? Yohji knew that people had a habit of disappearing and then mysteriously reappearing, but they didn't usually remember and it was still a really big fucking shock when he'd just about managed to pull himself together.

He rested his hands on bare hips, looking Cliff up and down. He looked, well, alive. Alive was good. And just like Yohji remembered him except in a much nicer outfit. Not that the Landel's uniforms were really flattering for anyone. "You disappeared," he said, voice harsh and hurt. "Four days ago. Just vanished."

[Oh you tell me now.]

"Four days?" It was Cliff's turn to stare. Sure, he could pass off being knocked out for a day, but that was... How could he be missing four days? He remembered bits of things, fighting and blood and nighshift things but nothing that gave him a solid sense of time. Knowing what the institute could do, he wasn't sure he wanted to know what that meant.

"I'd like to tell you I broke out and partied with the locals for a while but I don't really remember anything after the last time we talked." Not even being taken. He didn't know what else to say. It was ironic for that to be the last conversation he'd have, but he couldn't bring himself to apologize for disappearing right after it. Neither of them had any real control over what the institute did and didn't do, and it made him want to fight back somehow more than offer empty apologizes for being able to do nothing.

Cliff forced a grin, and it looked genuine enough. "Hey, what's with that look? That kinda crap happens all the time. You know it's probably not as serious as it seems. I'm sorry if I scared you, but I'm back now anyway. And on second thought, I think I could go for that drink while they're still offering 'em." He raised his eyebrows, giving Yohji a half-amused once over in return. "Nice outfit by the way."

"Yes, four days," Yohji replied, reaching up to rub his forehead tiredly. He smiled slightly though, awkwardly looking up at his friend. "I knew you shouldn't have said that stuff to me. You jinxed it." He couldn't stay angry for very long at anyone he cared about like that. Even if they were psychopaths who tried to kill him.

He snorted, half in amusement and half exasperation at Cliff's matter-of-fact acceptance of whatever had happened. Typical. Especially considering how badly it had messed Yohji up. That was a little embarrassing when he remembered it. "Yeah, you're back now, and I can't think of a better reason for a drink." He smirked, pushing the long coat back a bit and what do you know? The big red cross was already painted onto his chest. Who the hell had done that?! He pushed his hat up a bit and grinned. "Mission outfit, oddly enough."

"You sound like a paranoid grandmother talking about jinxes." Cliff teased offhand. Sure, he didn't know if he'd still be around after this weird party thing was over but that was all the more reason to keep Yohji - and himself - from getting too depressed. When was he ever certain about tomorrow anyway?

He must have been pretty messed up if he thought someone else had disappeared though. He put an arm around Yohji's shoulders, and gave him a little tug towards the drink table. "So what kind of mission makes you paint a target on your chest? Look, it's telling me exactly where to hit in bright red. I dunno if you can keep that when we're playing space cowboy."

Yohji rolled his eyes, elbowing Cliff in the ribs for the insult. "Hey. You just reappear and now you're insulting me. Charming." Yeah, joking worked much much better than actually thinking too hard about things. He'd just get depressed that way and he didn't want to spend his time around Cliff depressed.

He started a little when Cliff clung his arm around Yohji's shoulders, but relaxed into the touch after a moment, leaning closer to the other man and gratefully following him towards the drinks. He grinned ruefully. "Someone decided that our mission outfits really needed a red cross on them apparently," he said with a shrug. "Sure as hell wasn't going to get one on the back of a nice coat like this." He smirked slightly. "'least this outfit isn't bright white with a giant red cross right over the heart."

"Ow, see, now I'm wounded too." Cliff replied, feigning injury so he could lean against Yohji and half-overbalance them. He knew what he was doing though and they were never in danger of actually falling over.

"Wow, that's subtle. You sure your designer didn't have it in for you too?" Cliff skipped over the hard stuff this time. If someone he didn't particularly like was giving him free booze, he was going for the most expensive-looking thing on the table. Who knew when the chance would come up again?

He picked up one of those old vintage wines, something he vaguely recognized from playing bodyguard to some high-class scumbag years before. He held the bottle up for Yohji's inspection. "What do you think? Rich enough for our blood?"

Yohji nearly overbalanced when Cliff leaned heavily against him but Cliff's strong manly arms kept him from falling and it felt kind of nice to have him there, wrapped around him.

"God knows," he muttered. "The two newbies had a better idea than us, seems like." At least they wore dark colours and all.

Yohji raised an eyebrow at the sight of the bottle that Cliff picked out, peering at the label. "I don't think either of us could afford it in ten years, so hey, let's go for it!"

"Only ten? Well I guess we can settle for it." Cliff was grinning while he said this though, obviously pleased with his choice. He released Yohji finally so he could pop the cork and snag a couple of glasses for them.

"Wanna go hunt up somewhere without glitter?"

Yohji snorted, taking another look at the wine. "Ten decades, more like," he said with some amusement. Although he admitted, he did have a pretty good salary. Booze was booze and he preferred to buy more permanent things with his cash.

He glaced around the area, at the glitter spewing fountain and nodded. "Definitely," he replied dryly.

"Now you're just saying that to make me feel better." Cliff teased, but he led them to one of the side doors away from the other party goers.

The room it led to looked expensive as hell even if it was a bit old fashioned for his taste. Cliff had to admit it was impressive. "...They didn't cut any corners with this thing."

"Mmmm, no, it's the truth. Admittedly, I tend to spend a lot of what I earn anyway so maybe it's just me," Yohji replied with a grin as he followed Cliff over towards one of the doors.

He blinked when he stepped inside, getting his eyes used to the suddenly dim lighting. "Wow," he said when he finally managed to look around. "They apparently designed the room to match the wine." At least in terms of cost.

Cliff crossed over to the bed, big enough for three of him easily. Sure they'd probably end up getting wine stains all over the expensive silk sheets they had going on, but he could hardly care.

He set the bottle and glasses down on the night table and sprawled out on the bed. "They've sure got money to burn. I wonder who's behind all this? Hidden camera show maybe?"

Yohji paced the room for a short while longer, appreciating the expensive setting, before he went over to the bed and sat down on it, kicking off his shoes and shrugging out of his jacket before lying back next to Cliff.

"Who knows? I'm not sure how a camera show would make us just magically appear here though." It was weird. More like the way the Institute did things.

Cliff regarded him with a serious expression at least after his brain informed him politely that Yohji wasn't wearing anything under the coat.

"Kid," He said, resting a hand on Yohji's head. It sounded like he had more to say, but without warning he ruffled the other man's hair. "Don't take everything so seriously. You'll drive yourself crazy."

Cliff was fairly sure it was the Institute's doing. Sooner or later they were probably in for a nasty surprise. Until then though..they had a ritzy hotel room all to themselves.

Yohji laughed softly as his hair was ruffled, a self-depreciating look on his face. "Yeah, I know. I guess I'm just paranoid when it comes to these things." It kinda' came with the territory really, and the Institute hadn't made things any better in that respect unfortunately.

He stretched langrously anyway though, grinning at the other man. "But you're right. Should just take the chance to relax for a while."
