CHAT DEMANDS IMPROMPTU IC PARTY FOR THE WIN AND THE LULZ

LET'S GO!  JOIN IN!

At the end of the day, your character is led back to their room in the usual manner.  The nurse's hand reaches for the doorknob and the door swings open, then--

Poof!

Your character appears in a large ballroom with an exquisitely tiled floor and a large stone fountain in the center.  The centerpiece of the fountain, shaped like a large fish, continually emits a spray of glitter from its open mouth.  Several tables covered with crisp white tablecloths are positioned near the walls, and a jar of sharpie brand glitter-paint markers serves as a colorful centerpiece for each.

Against the far wall is a long, rectangular table, with two bowls of red punch.  A sign written in fancy calligraphy rests against each: Yes, and No.  In addition to the punch, there are bottles of every liquor imaginable, as well as several fine wines and packs of cigarettes (though partygoers will have to fight for a single lighter).

The bathroom to one side bears a creepy resemblance to the bathroom in a normal house, complete with a medicine cabinet worthy of a lonely 50's housewife.

On the other side are a series of doors leading to rooms.

CURRENT SUB-ROOMS:

Bathroom
Office
Room of Mystical Legal Aging
Vegas Hotel
Broom Closet
Walk-in Freezer

If your character goes into a room, please put that room in the subject line.  Rooms are lockable.  If you want a room that isn't listed, tell me and I'll give it to you.  XD

Since this is not an actual [livejournal.com profile] damned event and is not srs bzns, feel free to join in with a character that from another rp if you're a potential player.  If this is the case, instead of entering through a door in the institute, your player would enter through a random door in the RP from whence they came.  XD  EDIT:  Party is now also for trying out potential characters.

The YES punch smells and tastes alcoholic, and has the same effect as a normal spiked drink.  The NO punch smells and tastes like normal non-alcoholic party punch.  IF YOUR CHARACTER DRINKS THE NO PUNCH, IM ME AT QUANTIFYTHIS AND I WILL TELL YOU ITS EFFECT.

THE FIRST RULE OF THE PARTY IS DON'T BE LAME.  THE SECOND RULE OF THE PARTY IS SRSLY, DON'T BE LAME.

(music will be updated when Allie is not lazy and people give requests)

SMALL PRINT:  Powers and weapons are go as long as whoever you're using them on is cool with it.  Continuity from previous damned parties is intact if you want it to be, or not intact if you don't want it to be.  Clothing is whatever your character wore in canon, whatever they should have worn in canon, whatever they wore in their rp game, or whatever isn't in the dryer.  This impromptu chat party will last until everyone gets bored.

Oh, joy. Escaped from the bizarre insane asylum only to be brought to a more bizarre, if less dangerous, glitter-filled party and forced to cart around bottles of alcohol for a tipsy magician. Yue was fairly certain this had never been part of his intended purpose, even it somehow felt rather oddly familiar. He only frowned, though, and drifted along after Fai with the bottles cradled in one arm.

Once they'd arrived at the row of doors, Yue regarded them thoughtfully. He'd seen people going through a couple of them, but there were still several others left unopened. "Any ideas?"

Since none of the doors had any signs on them, there was really no way to tell what door led where. It was like a guessing game. He just had to hope that the one he picked wouldn't lead to something bad like certain death... or a sushi shop.

"How about this one?" he asked, a goofy smile on his face. He tried the handle and when it wasn't locked, he pulled it quickly open.

Yue drifted in after Fai, but when he realized where they were he abruptly paused, wings half-spreading. Well, it wasn't certain death. Nor was it a way back home. And even though there was distinctly less glitter, it was still quite...strange. "Why is this here?"

Not that Yue particularly minded the cold, all things considered. But generally speaking, ordinary-looking doors didn't lead to freezers. Nor were they often connected to -- oh, to hell with it. Nothing in this place seemed to make any sense, so he should probably just stop thinking about it.

Yuuhi couldn't help a pleased little smile when the door opened and brought a cool wind with it. Despite what feelings he might have for his home world, he never could get used to warm weather. Cold was what he'd always known and what he was most comfortable with.

"Hyuuuuuuu," he sighed, popping open one of his bottles and taking a drink directly from it. "Must be some kinda magic," he added with a giggle and what sounded like a meow.

"Magic?" Yue glanced sidelong at Fai with a frown. "Hardly that. It's just a freezer." And the magician was clearly moving beyond tipsy and probably shouldn't be drinking any more of his copious alcohol supply. Unless the meowing was considered normal for Fai, although that seemed somewhat doubtful. Even for him.

He casually shifted a little to hide the bottles he was carrying from the other's view and began to prowl the room curiously. Maybe there was something interesting in here. Or, since it was a freezer, maybe there was something food-like for his mildly sloshed companion.

"But it's really big!" he exclaimed, almost dropping one of the bottles with an overly dramatic gesture. Not wanting to break one when they'd been so scarce before, he set two down and held one firmly in hand. He didn't bother to check the label before taking another swallow, but it did burn a little more than the others on the way down. Vodka probably.

When he leaned back against the frozen shelves, he could see his breath on the air and let out another short laugh. "Whatcha looking for nya?"

For half a second Yue was struck with a distinct feeling of déjà vu, though he couldn't quite place why being in the presence of a giggly drunk magician would be familiar. Probably another memory that had been "adjusted," as he'd discovered others had been. That more than anything contributed to the annoyed frown that was momentarily visible before he turned away again.

"I'm just curious what is in here," he replied, examining the rows of shelves. "There's a freezer but no kitchen?" There was also a fish-shaped glitter fountain in the other room, however, so he supposed it didn't have to make sense.

"How boring," Yuuhi replied in a sing-song voice. Freezers had frozen food of course, what else would be there? Nothing useful. Unless Yue really wanted popsicles. Or ice cream. Neither idea sounded plausible, even intoxicated as he was, but both of the sweets sounded pretty good to him.

Without putting the bottle down, he started rummaging through the shelves. "Don't be silly, of course there's kitchens. It's right by the cafeteria," he laughed, not even comprehending now that they might be in a completely different building.

The fish theme seemed to continue in here, though why anyone would want that many boxes of frozen cod fillets (both batter-dipped and not) Yue really wasn't sure. Maybe he was being boring, but he still didn't like it when he didn't understand the situations in which he found himself.

He glanced back at Fai and drew slightly farther away, pulling his wings in closer lest the inebriated magician decide to step on a feather or something. "I somehow don't think we're still in that place," Yue replied, trying to decide if Fai was drunk or just annoying. "Should we move on to the next door?"

Yuuhi let out a loud sigh and swayed unsteadily as he continued looking. The drinks were starting to effect him, but despite the cold freezer, he still felt warm and his cheeks held a slight red blush. "Then where are we?" he asked, not sounding nearly as concerned as he ought to be.

After a moment he pouted, adding, "there's no ice cream in here."

Yue regarded Fai for a long moment, then finally sighed and shook his head slowly. Definitely drunk, though that didn't rule out annoying, either. "Right now we're in a freezer, but I think it's time to leave." And it was definitely time to cut off the alcohol supply, too - Fai still had a death grip on the one bottle, but he'd set down two, and Yue extended a wing slightly to brush them back out of sight.

"Perhaps the other rooms are more interesting," he suggested, motioning back toward the door. If there had been ice cream, he suspected it would have been far more difficult to get Fai out of there, so that was a stroke of luck.

The calm and straightforward way Yue had stated the obvious, that they were in a freezer, was for some reason incredibly funny to Yuuhi, and he erupted into another fit of giggles. And since Yue was pretty smart, he decided that maybe it was for the best to follow along. Something interesting would be more fun, even if it was getting a little harder to walk a straight line.

He took another swig from the vodka bottle and started tottering toward the door. "Let's go!" he exclaimed, "it'll be an adventure!"

The more giddy and wobbly his companion became, the more stiff and serious Yue seemed to turn in reaction. He watched Fai's little fit of hilarity with a frown, then finally huffed a sigh and set down the bottles he carried, nudging them back to join the others he'd already hidden. Hopefully the magician wasn't planning to drink too much more, since there were limits to what Yue was willing to do to help.

But at least they were leaving the freezer behind, and Fai hadn't seemed to notice he was lacking any of his alcohol supply. It seemed that for him it was going to be an adventure in staying upright. "Do try not to trip over anything," the guardian observed dryly, as he moved to follow.

After the freezer, it felt much too warm in the main room. He wondered for a moment if it was any cooler to go swimming in the glittery fountain, but though better of it. Fun as glitter was, swimming in it would almost guarantee he'd still find it on his person weeks later.

He hadn't noticed that Yue had left the bottles behind, but with all the bottles still unopened in this room, he wouldn't be too worried even if he had.

"Where to?" he asked, glancing at the other doors. Hopefully the others would lead somewhere more exciting. They might even have ice cream. Of course they could also have horrible monsters. Yuuhi chose not to wonder too much and just push on ahead. No use worrying over it now.
