CHAT DEMANDS IMPROMPTU IC PARTY FOR THE WIN AND THE LULZ

LET'S GO!  JOIN IN!

At the end of the day, your character is led back to their room in the usual manner.  The nurse's hand reaches for the doorknob and the door swings open, then--

Poof!

Your character appears in a large ballroom with an exquisitely tiled floor and a large stone fountain in the center.  The centerpiece of the fountain, shaped like a large fish, continually emits a spray of glitter from its open mouth.  Several tables covered with crisp white tablecloths are positioned near the walls, and a jar of sharpie brand glitter-paint markers serves as a colorful centerpiece for each.

Against the far wall is a long, rectangular table, with two bowls of red punch.  A sign written in fancy calligraphy rests against each: Yes, and No.  In addition to the punch, there are bottles of every liquor imaginable, as well as several fine wines and packs of cigarettes (though partygoers will have to fight for a single lighter).

The bathroom to one side bears a creepy resemblance to the bathroom in a normal house, complete with a medicine cabinet worthy of a lonely 50's housewife.

On the other side are a series of doors leading to rooms.

CURRENT SUB-ROOMS:

Bathroom
Office
Room of Mystical Legal Aging
Vegas Hotel
Broom Closet
Walk-in Freezer

If your character goes into a room, please put that room in the subject line.  Rooms are lockable.  If you want a room that isn't listed, tell me and I'll give it to you.  XD

Since this is not an actual [livejournal.com profile] damned event and is not srs bzns, feel free to join in with a character that from another rp if you're a potential player.  If this is the case, instead of entering through a door in the institute, your player would enter through a random door in the RP from whence they came.  XD  EDIT:  Party is now also for trying out potential characters.

The YES punch smells and tastes alcoholic, and has the same effect as a normal spiked drink.  The NO punch smells and tastes like normal non-alcoholic party punch.  IF YOUR CHARACTER DRINKS THE NO PUNCH, IM ME AT QUANTIFYTHIS AND I WILL TELL YOU ITS EFFECT.

THE FIRST RULE OF THE PARTY IS DON'T BE LAME.  THE SECOND RULE OF THE PARTY IS SRSLY, DON'T BE LAME.

(music will be updated when Allie is not lazy and people give requests)

SMALL PRINT:  Powers and weapons are go as long as whoever you're using them on is cool with it.  Continuity from previous damned parties is intact if you want it to be, or not intact if you don't want it to be.  Clothing is whatever your character wore in canon, whatever they should have worn in canon, whatever they wore in their rp game, or whatever isn't in the dryer.  This impromptu chat party will last until everyone gets bored.

That was an easy enough question.

"Ever since I was little, I've known that what I thought as morally right was correct." He finished his glass casually, then set it down. "It's always been my duty to suppress the evil in the world. Becoming a prosecution attorney was the logical step."

He didn't bother looking at Matsuda again, instead opting to continue studying the various drinks closely. The punch was decent, but too sweet for his tastes, and he still wanted something more. Not alcohol, but no doubt that's all that was here. He finally picked up an interesting looking bottle, moving it side to side to view the sparkling liquid inside.

"And yourself? You said you're a police officer, but surely it's more specific than that. Tell me what you do." He looked at Matsuda shrewdly. "And why."

Matsuda smiled at Mikami's explanation, grinning. "Nice! Lots of lawyers are seen as corrupt and everything, so it's nice to see someone with good priorities." The whole 'I'm morally right' attitude might be a bit dangerous, because nothing was ever really absolute, but the prosecutor seemed genuine in his intentions.

He took another drink of his punch, and looked back over when Mikami spoke again. "Me?" he repeated, blinking. "I originally joined the police academy because my parents expected it of me, but it's been nice to help people by catching the bad guys. Right now I'm working as a police detective, trying to catch Kira. I'll admit that what he's doing has helped a lot of people and helped to lower crime rates, but he's still a murderer. We have laws for a reason."

Mikami allowed himself a small smile as Matsuda complimented him, picking out a new glass to replace the punchy one and pouring up some of his chosen beverage as the man continued talking at him. He began to take a sip, and then--

"WHAT?!" he cried out dramatically. Or rather, he tried crying out dramatically-- instead, vodka was sprayed everywhere, and he half doubled over as he fought back choking coughs.

It was unbelievable that of all the people he'd met so far who knew nothing of Kira, he had been interacting all this time with someone who did. Plus, back "home," he was used to people who would, when not outright announcing their support for Kira, at least act mildly uncomfortable when mentioning they didn't agree with his actions. To find someone who so calmly threw out that they were trying to "capture" Kira... it was crazy. Although, he had thought the man rather... incompetent since "meeting" him.

"I don't think Kira is a criminal," he said bluntly, after regaining his composure a bit, "In fact, I think Kira is the best thing to ever happen to the world."

Matsuda shrank back a bit at Mikami's exclamation, trying to avoid the spray of vodka and failing. It went everywhere, and it looked like Mikami was the king of spilling things everywhere tonight. They probably just needed to go try and find a change of clothes for the prosecutor.

But even without that admission that he was a follower (or close enough), Matsuda could have probably picked up his adoration for Kira from the spray of vodka. "You and most of the world," Matsuda responded bluntly. "But I know how he does it, and it's way too much power for just one person. What if he ever made a mistake? He's killed innocent people before. You're a prosecutor, so you know that we have trials to determine whether or not people are really guilty. Kira's decisions are absolute, and he can't really bring people back if he makes a mistake."
