For the love of god, will someone agree with me:

Sandwiches are not worth the effort.

This is not laziness. This is an example of a poor effort-to-reward ratio. First you have to get out the bread, then the mayo, then the salt and pepper, then the cheese, then the meat, then slice a tomato and an onion and rip apart some lettuce and somehow obtain a pickle. After the arduous task of gathering these ingredients, they must be assembled. After assembly, you have to put the ingredients away, and then you get ten minutes of consumption, tops.

Sandwiches are simply inefficient.

Yes, I could just make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, but I don't like those! This is the type of sandwich I would make, were I to make a sandwich, and I see no reason to make any other kind of sandwich.

Though really, people who make sandwiches like that on a regular basis tend to prepare a lot of that at the start and it'll last them several sandwiches, making up for the time when you can throw the already cut items together.

Well, those people can come over and make me a sandwich. :|

I totally agree! I love sandwiches, but I tend to get them whenever I'm not the one making them. Unless I'm really in a cooking mood, the things I make for meals tend to take less time than a sandwich and have more substance to them.

I agree, but I agree because of sheer laziness. XD

Admitting laziness does not help my argument!

Clearly your problem is that you're not willing to sacrifice any details for the sake of convenience. I mean, who bothers to put a slice of onion on a sandwich?

What's the point in doing it if you're not going to do it right??

That statement only works when you assume that an onion on a sandwich is "doing it right." :|

But sandwiches are delicious so it is totally worth it.

Sandwiches are worth it because after you consume it, you are only left with a (reusable! :| this part is important) plastic baggie instead of carrying around a container everywhere + you can eat it on the go.

....however, this depends on whether or not you are a student who constantly rushes out the door in the morning. I tend not to make sandwiches when I'm at home with proper cooking utensils in front of me.

(I can usually put together a sandwich in about three minutes flat, though. DON'T LAUGH, I AM QUITE PROUD OF THIS SKILL).

I have to disagree, although this could depend on your sandwich-making speed combined with the type of sandwich you're making. I could make a graph of it.

First off salt and pepper are for suckaz.

Second off, there are your average cold sandwiches. I find that the quality of these depends almost entirely on the type of bread you're using. White bread is also for suckaz. The good stuff is like, a billion-grain seeds hanging off of it craziness, unless this sandwich is not actually a sandwich but a hoagie. Those are a whole other ballpark.

There are just too many factors to say for sure how worthwhile sandwiches are.

But as a general rule I'd say they're at the very least "worth it" or "more than worth it" if there's honey mustard involved and if there is to be a pickle in the near future.

It's not about longevity, maaaaan.

I love sandwiches, though I prefer the sub variety to the two-slices-of-bread variety.

But there are few things in the world I like better than a grilled cheese sandwich topped with sauteed mushrooms and onions, man. That is worth any amount of effort. *drools a little just thinking about it*
