CHAT DEMANDS IMPROMPTU IC PARTY FOR THE WIN AND THE LULZ

LET'S GO!  JOIN IN!


At the end of the day, your character is led back to their room in the usual manner.  The nurse's hand reaches for the doorknob and the door swings open, then--

Poof!

Your character appears in a large ballroom with an exquisitely tiled floor and a large stone fountain in the center.  The centerpiece of the fountain, shaped like a large fish, continually emits a spray of glitter from its open mouth.  Several tables covered with crisp white tablecloths are positioned near the walls, and a jar of sharpie brand glitter-paint markers serves as a colorful centerpiece for each.

Against the far wall is a long, rectangular table, with two bowls of red punch.  A sign written in fancy calligraphy rests against each: Yes, and No.  In addition to the punch, there are bottles of every liquor imaginable, as well as several fine wines and packs of cigarettes (though partygoers will have to fight for a single lighter).

The bathroom to one side bears a creepy resemblance to the bathroom in a normal house, complete with a medicine cabinet worthy of a lonely 50's housewife.

On the other side are a series of doors leading to rooms.

If your character goes into a room, please put that room in the subject line.  Rooms are lockable.  If you want a room that isn't listed, tell me and I'll give it to you.  XD




Since this is not an actual damned event and is not srs bzns, feel free to join in with a character that from another rp if you're a potential player.  If this is the case, instead of entering through a door in the institute, your player would enter through a random door in the RP from whence they came.  XD  EDIT:  Party is now also for trying out potential characters.

The YES punch smells and tastes alcoholic, and has the same effect as a normal spiked drink.  The NO punch smells and tastes like normal non-alcoholic party punch.  IF YOUR CHARACTER DRINKS THE NO PUNCH, IM ME AT QUANTIFYTHIS AND I WILL TELL YOU ITS EFFECT.

THE FIRST RULE OF THE PARTY IS DON'T BE LAME.  THE SECOND RULE OF THE PARTY IS SRSLY, DON'T BE LAME.

SMALL PRINT:  Powers and weapons are go as long as whoever you're using them on is cool with it.  Continuity from previous damned parties is intact if you want it to be, or not intact if you don't want it to be.  Clothing is whatever your character wore in canon, whatever they should have worn in canon, whatever they wore in their rp game, or whatever isn't in the dryer.  This impromptu chat party will last until everyone gets bored.

Haku smiled warmly. "I would like that very much," he said. "I think I would like it very much, from what you say."

"I think you would as well," The boy sighed, nuzzling Haku again. He was comfortable, and Haku's cool body temperature made for a comfortable situation temperature-wise as well. "Perhaps I could even take you to a place where it snows. Perhaps Nepal, or the winter house. We could stay there together. I would fly us there, naturally, and it would just be the two of us..." He looked up at Haku. "We can do that, right?"

"Of course," Haku said, tucking close to the now larger young man. "I would like to see how you 'fly' as well. It sounds very interesting."

Artemis was happy that Haku responded in the affirmative. They both knew what he had been getting at: Haku's unfortunate status of life. Artemis could do this, though. He had overcome death before, he could do it again. It was all a matter of turning back the clock.

"Yes, it might be terrifying at first, but you'll get used to it, I'm sure. I'm a very good pilot. And you trust me, don't you?" He laughed.

"I don't know," Haku teased. "I think I will have to see exactly what a 'plane' is first."

He sighed, relaxing a bit more. "I wonder if I would still have my Kekkei Genkai in your world," he said absently.

"Kekkei... excuse me?" Artemis said, arching an eyebrow. The term sounded familiar, but he couldn't remember what it was.

"Kekkei genkai." Haku smiled and held up a hand. "Bloodlimit ability. It's something that happens from time to time in my world with different clans."

"Oh... right, the thing that gives you an extraordinary amount of power, correct?" Artemis thought back to the rose. Most likely, Haku could do that sort of thing to the water in people's bodies and... well, that wouldn't be easy to clean up, suffice it to say.

Laughing softly, Haku nodded. "I wouldn't say that," he said. "And it's different for each clan. The Uchiha clan is one of the most famous, known for the Sharingan eye, an eye that can see through anything, and copy any move or skill save a kekkei genkai, while I ... am just very cold."

Artemis frowned. That did sound powerful--almost too powerful to exist. But then again, so did magic. Strange things happened all the time.

"I like you very cold," Artemis said petulantly. "And you think that what you did with that rose was nothing? It was amazing, beautiful."

Haku beamed. "I'm glad. I don't do warm very well." Laughing softly, he shook his head again.

"Using the abilities granted to us costs us and the more you use the ability, the worse the side effects are. Ninja are trained from a very young age to use chakra. Kekkei Genkai also use chakra, and if you use too much, too quickly, it could even kill you."

Artemis looked horrified. "Costs you... what? Your life, or something gradual such as your health?"

"It costs us in Chakra, our health and life together." Haku was still smiling, after all, this was how things were for him. "I have witnessed many people overuse their chakra only to collapse and die later, either by an opponent's hand or their own carelessness."

Artemis didn't know what to say to that. He looked rather depressed. Haku may not have even made it to twenty, let alone fifteen, with this thing in him. The thought made him sick enough to scream. What kind of twisted world did he live in?

"I feel ill," he announced. That wasn't what he meant to say.

Haku blinked. "I'm sorry," he said quickly,feeling responsible. "But, don't worry about me please."

He was guessing that the idea of Haku collapsing and dying because of his power was the cause of his friend's discomfort. "Chakra is something that can be replenished with time and rest, and being one of those with a bloodlimit ability isn't anything like having a constant drain or even a death sentence."

"It isn't?" Artemis asked, still looking scared and somewhat paler. If running out of magic was a death sentence, there would be many a dead fairy not flying about. And Artemis himself... who was to say that his lifespan wasn't getting shorter and shorter as he used magic? It had happened to Butler, after all, why not him?

"No, of course not. If that were the case, I wouldn't be here at all. My abilities havebeen with me since I was very young, before my parents died in fact."

Haku laughed softly. "I've had a long time to get used to them."

"That's... good I suppose." It didn't change the fact that Artemis suddenly didn't know if he was dying or not. He'd have to figure this out soon. But for now, change of subject would have been best. But what to talk abou--

"I'd really rather stop this discussion right now. It's scaring me," He looked up at Haku again, a bit surprised by what he said. In Artemis' mind, there was such a thing as being too honest--something he'd been doing all night. What was wrong with him?

"Alright," Haku agreed easily, not pointing out the odd character change. "What shall we talk about?"

"Perhaps the fact that I feel something is desperately wrong with me, and thus I am lacking in most of my social graces?" He gave a nervous laugh.

Haku offered a slight, teasing smile. "There is a reason I don't eat or drink anything in situations like this...."

Artemis' eyes nearly left their sockets. The punch... the punch had something in it!

"Whatever I drank, it's making me more compelled to be completely honest. Thus my sudden declaration that I was ill when I thought about it, and the desire to change the subject voiced so ungracefully." He looked both horrified and fascinated at the same time. How was such a thing possible?

"Well, I have to admit, I'm not terribly surprised. After all, we are in a place that seems to have very few common rules. Look at us, we're both at least twenty years old, though when we first came in here, we were much younger. Our power is back as well."

Haku smiled again. "I would be grateful it wasn't anything worse."

Artemis looked uneasy. "Something worse might be preferable, in my case. To be perfectly honest. I'm not... used to telling the whole truth."

Holding up a hand, Haku closed his eyes. "I promise never to repeat any of this outside of these walls," he said, serious while still sounding teasing.

"How is that?"
