CHAT DEMANDS IMPROMPTU IC PARTY FOR THE WIN AND THE LULZ

LET'S GO!  JOIN IN!


At the end of the day, your character is led back to their room in the usual manner.  The nurse's hand reaches for the doorknob and the door swings open, then--

Poof!

Your character appears in a large ballroom with an exquisitely tiled floor and a large stone fountain in the center.  The centerpiece of the fountain, shaped like a large fish, continually emits a spray of glitter from its open mouth.  Several tables covered with crisp white tablecloths are positioned near the walls, and a jar of sharpie brand glitter-paint markers serves as a colorful centerpiece for each.

Against the far wall is a long, rectangular table, with two bowls of red punch.  A sign written in fancy calligraphy rests against each: Yes, and No.  In addition to the punch, there are bottles of every liquor imaginable, as well as several fine wines and packs of cigarettes (though partygoers will have to fight for a single lighter).

The bathroom to one side bears a creepy resemblance to the bathroom in a normal house, complete with a medicine cabinet worthy of a lonely 50's housewife.

On the other side are a series of doors leading to rooms.

If your character goes into a room, please put that room in the subject line.  Rooms are lockable.  If you want a room that isn't listed, tell me and I'll give it to you.  XD




Since this is not an actual damned event and is not srs bzns, feel free to join in with a character that from another rp if you're a potential player.  If this is the case, instead of entering through a door in the institute, your player would enter through a random door in the RP from whence they came.  XD  EDIT:  Party is now also for trying out potential characters.

The YES punch smells and tastes alcoholic, and has the same effect as a normal spiked drink.  The NO punch smells and tastes like normal non-alcoholic party punch.  IF YOUR CHARACTER DRINKS THE NO PUNCH, IM ME AT QUANTIFYTHIS AND I WILL TELL YOU ITS EFFECT.

THE FIRST RULE OF THE PARTY IS DON'T BE LAME.  THE SECOND RULE OF THE PARTY IS SRSLY, DON'T BE LAME.

SMALL PRINT:  Powers and weapons are go as long as whoever you're using them on is cool with it.  Continuity from previous damned parties is intact if you want it to be, or not intact if you don't want it to be.  Clothing is whatever your character wore in canon, whatever they should have worn in canon, whatever they wore in their rp game, or whatever isn't in the dryer.  This impromptu chat party will last until everyone gets bored.

Artemis probably would have spluttered a bit more, but he was too busy feeling Haku's cold as ice hand on his arm. Through his jacket and shirt. He looked at his friend, concerned.

"Are you co--... Colder than usual?"

Haku's smiled faltered for a moment, and he glanced over at the other boy. "I'm sorry," he said, shifting slightly as though ready to pull away.

"No...!" Artemis took the very cold hand in his much warmer one. "No it's fine. I was just worried. I wondered if you were sick. But if it's normal," he smiled. "Then I have nothing to worry about."

Haku smiled again.

"It's normal," he said, "But I can at least make it a bit warmer for you." He adjusted his body temperature to something a bit less... chilly.

"It's very normal," he added, "for me at least."

"Amazing," Artemis marveled with a laugh. "Simply amazing. If only I could do something like that. I've only got this up my sleeve~"

He held out a hand to Haku and a spark jumped from inside his jacket sleeve to each finger and then back into its former hiding place.

"But it isn't as useful as your skills, I'd be willing to bet."

Haku's eyes widened, interested in the display of power. "I like that more than anything I could do," he admitted.

Artemis blushed lightly, "Well, it's an interesting trick to be certain, but I don't have any real form of control over it. My technique is sloppy at best, and who knows what would happen if I lost control of it..."

Haku thought for a moment, then shrugged. "Come here." He tugged Artemis gently over to the table with the punch on it and picked up a cup before tugging him away again, ignoring everyone else.

Holding up the glass of punch between two fingers, he was pleased when it took almost no thought at all to freeze the liquid solid in the blink of an eye.

Artemis' jaw dropped slightly and he took the glass from Haku to examine it. "Incredible... simply incredible! To do something like that with seemingly no effort. Can you freeze things in midair?"

Haku nodded. "I can ... manipulate wind and water and make ice. It's a trait found only in my clan and nowhere else in my world."

Artemis grinned. "Here," he filled a cup with the Yes punch and handed it to Haku. "Can you throw this and freeze it at the same time? Into a shape of some sort?"

Haku lifted an eyebrow. "I'm not a trick pony," he teased, grasping Artemis' wrist lightly and smiling.

Moving so that he could hold both the cup in Artemis' hand without letting go, he turned the cup over, the punch falling into his hands where it instantly froze and took the shape of a rose.

If it was possible, the boy's jaw dropped even further than it had before. Artemis had just been expecting a wave of punch, or possibly a form of the punch being thrown out of the glass.

"Haku you have gravely overestimated my abilities," He looked at the rose, suspecting that if he were to touch it, it would melt. The piece was safer in the ninja's hand. "It's beautiful..."

"Thank you." Haku took the cup from Artemis and, again using the power that had been denied him for so long, turned the punch from a liquid to a solid before transferring it back into the cup.

"It's nice to be able to do that without passing out," he added with a small smile.

Artemis smiled, "It's nice to not worry for a short time." It was true, after all. With Haku here, Mello most likely would not come within five feet of him. Artemis hoped.

"Speaking of worrying," Artemis leaned over the punch bowl and took a small sniff. "This is alcoholic. I can smell it. The one marked 'No' must be non-alcoholic."

"Interesting." He lifted the cup he had and took a cautious sniff himself before setting it down.

"A good thing I am not thirsty then."

Artemis gave Haku a flat look, "You should eat something. It is, technically, dinnertime according to our internal clocks."

"Eat what?" He glanced around. "Isee a number of drinks," he pointed out, "But no food."

He moved next to Artemis again and slid his arm through the other boy's with a smile.

Artemis looked around, his frown growing into a scowl. "You love torturing me like this, don't you?"

Haku smiled and leaned in to press a quick kiss to Artemis' cheek. "Well,as the 'woman' here, I think that's my job, is it not?"

Artemis flushed under the kiss and looked uncomfortable. "Haku..." The genius' eyes flicked back over to Mello and Near, then back to his friend. "Do you see the man with the longish blond hair? Next to the boy with the white hair?"

Haku glanced over then slid his gaze towards another person. "I do." He frowned and tilted his head, as though considering the random person he was looking at.

"Have I gotten you into trouble? Or is this someone that you need to have taken care of?"

"I'm nervous he'll... His name is Mello," He walked casually away from Mello towards the doors at the other end of the room. "He and I... don't exactly see eye to eye. At the last party he... nearly strangled me. And he threatened to kill everyone I ever loved or cared about."

He gave Haku a weary smile, "You must see where I'm going with this."

Haku blinked.

"Artemis. I'm an assasin." It was the first time he'd come out and said something about what he did.

"You don't have to worry about me, though," he had to add, "It's kind of you to do so."

"I know, I know... Believe me, I know," Artemis sighed. Alcohol was sounding pretty good right now, actually. "But he's... truly insane. He hates me because I remind him of the white-haired boy. Anyway, I have no doubt of your abilities," Artemis said, gesturing to the glass of punch. "But his insane dislike of me is frightening. I have no idea what he would do if he knew... about us."
