CHAT DEMANDS IMPROMPTU IC PARTY FOR THE WIN AND THE LULZ

LET'S GO!  JOIN IN!


At the end of the day, your character is led back to their room in the usual manner.  The nurse's hand reaches for the doorknob and the door swings open, then--

Poof!

Your character appears in a large ballroom with an exquisitely tiled floor and a large stone fountain in the center.  The centerpiece of the fountain, shaped like a large fish, continually emits a spray of glitter from its open mouth.  Several tables covered with crisp white tablecloths are positioned near the walls, and a jar of sharpie brand glitter-paint markers serves as a colorful centerpiece for each.

Against the far wall is a long, rectangular table, with two bowls of red punch.  A sign written in fancy calligraphy rests against each: Yes, and No.  In addition to the punch, there are bottles of every liquor imaginable, as well as several fine wines and packs of cigarettes (though partygoers will have to fight for a single lighter).

The bathroom to one side bears a creepy resemblance to the bathroom in a normal house, complete with a medicine cabinet worthy of a lonely 50's housewife.

On the other side are a series of doors leading to rooms.

If your character goes into a room, please put that room in the subject line.  Rooms are lockable.  If you want a room that isn't listed, tell me and I'll give it to you.  XD




Since this is not an actual damned event and is not srs bzns, feel free to join in with a character that from another rp if you're a potential player.  If this is the case, instead of entering through a door in the institute, your player would enter through a random door in the RP from whence they came.  XD  EDIT:  Party is now also for trying out potential characters.

The YES punch smells and tastes alcoholic, and has the same effect as a normal spiked drink.  The NO punch smells and tastes like normal non-alcoholic party punch.  IF YOUR CHARACTER DRINKS THE NO PUNCH, IM ME AT QUANTIFYTHIS AND I WILL TELL YOU ITS EFFECT.

THE FIRST RULE OF THE PARTY IS DON'T BE LAME.  THE SECOND RULE OF THE PARTY IS SRSLY, DON'T BE LAME.

SMALL PRINT:  Powers and weapons are go as long as whoever you're using them on is cool with it.  Continuity from previous damned parties is intact if you want it to be, or not intact if you don't want it to be.  Clothing is whatever your character wore in canon, whatever they should have worn in canon, whatever they wore in their rp game, or whatever isn't in the dryer.  This impromptu chat party will last until everyone gets bored.

Haku was about to say something to his nurse when the door opened and he ....

Was elsewhere.

Okay. He could work with this. Glancing down, he took in his outfit for a moment, a long formal kimono in winter colors and a feminine cut. Reaching up, he found his hair to be wound on his head in a fancy knot and with a few ...senbon? Interesting...

Now to find out what was going on. Noticing a face he recognized, he moved smoothly over. "Enjoying yourself?"

Artemis nearly jumped when Haku sidled up to him, dressed beautifully.

"...I had no idea this was a fancy dress party. I thought I was just going to dinner." He frowned a little. "The fountain is spewing glitter. And the music choice is rather strange."

Haku laughed behind his hand, sliding closer to Artemis. Keeping his voice low, he glanced around the room, his manners purposfully relaxed.

"Do you think it's a set-up of some sort? Or a trap?"

Artemis hadn't been expecting something like that, but it was a possibility...

"No, this has happened to me before." Only he had been in a dress... "Landel was nowhere to be seen, and I had all of my magic returned to me. If it were a trap, why return our powers to us?"

Haku frowned and looked down at his hand. "They returned your power to you? That is odd." He glanced over at the fountain and the drinks, wondering....

"Perhaps it's a hallucination of some sort?"

"Well, if it is, it's a very nice one. I'd rather not wake up," he smiled and offered his arm to Haku.

"Punch? Although I'm rather wary after the last party... someone slipped something into it and I was... intoxicated." The boy frowned at the memory.

Haku laughed lightly again and shook his head. "well, we wouldn't want a repeat," he teased. "So let's ignore it for now."

Slipping his arm through Artemis', he smiled. "This feels like something of a date."

Artemis flushed. "D-does it? I didn't mean for it to be that way it just seemed natural that I should offer my arm. Not that you look like a woman or anything like that, you're just looking very nice tonight and..."

Deeper and deeper he dug himself a grave.

"I'll be more careful concerning the punch..." he promised, shutting himself up.

Haku laughed again and gently squeezed Artemis' arm. "I just meant the setting," he said. "Don't worry about mistaking me for a woman." He batted his eyes for a moment, before smiling.

"I'm quite good at pretending," he teased. "I'm not offended."

Artemis probably would have spluttered a bit more, but he was too busy feeling Haku's cold as ice hand on his arm. Through his jacket and shirt. He looked at his friend, concerned.

"Are you co--... Colder than usual?"

Haku's smiled faltered for a moment, and he glanced over at the other boy. "I'm sorry," he said, shifting slightly as though ready to pull away.

"No...!" Artemis took the very cold hand in his much warmer one. "No it's fine. I was just worried. I wondered if you were sick. But if it's normal," he smiled. "Then I have nothing to worry about."

Haku smiled again.

"It's normal," he said, "But I can at least make it a bit warmer for you." He adjusted his body temperature to something a bit less... chilly.

"It's very normal," he added, "for me at least."

"Amazing," Artemis marveled with a laugh. "Simply amazing. If only I could do something like that. I've only got this up my sleeve~"

He held out a hand to Haku and a spark jumped from inside his jacket sleeve to each finger and then back into its former hiding place.

"But it isn't as useful as your skills, I'd be willing to bet."

Haku's eyes widened, interested in the display of power. "I like that more than anything I could do," he admitted.

Artemis blushed lightly, "Well, it's an interesting trick to be certain, but I don't have any real form of control over it. My technique is sloppy at best, and who knows what would happen if I lost control of it..."

Haku thought for a moment, then shrugged. "Come here." He tugged Artemis gently over to the table with the punch on it and picked up a cup before tugging him away again, ignoring everyone else.

Holding up the glass of punch between two fingers, he was pleased when it took almost no thought at all to freeze the liquid solid in the blink of an eye.

Artemis' jaw dropped slightly and he took the glass from Haku to examine it. "Incredible... simply incredible! To do something like that with seemingly no effort. Can you freeze things in midair?"

Haku nodded. "I can ... manipulate wind and water and make ice. It's a trait found only in my clan and nowhere else in my world."

Artemis grinned. "Here," he filled a cup with the Yes punch and handed it to Haku. "Can you throw this and freeze it at the same time? Into a shape of some sort?"

Haku lifted an eyebrow. "I'm not a trick pony," he teased, grasping Artemis' wrist lightly and smiling.

Moving so that he could hold both the cup in Artemis' hand without letting go, he turned the cup over, the punch falling into his hands where it instantly froze and took the shape of a rose.

If it was possible, the boy's jaw dropped even further than it had before. Artemis had just been expecting a wave of punch, or possibly a form of the punch being thrown out of the glass.

"Haku you have gravely overestimated my abilities," He looked at the rose, suspecting that if he were to touch it, it would melt. The piece was safer in the ninja's hand. "It's beautiful..."

"Thank you." Haku took the cup from Artemis and, again using the power that had been denied him for so long, turned the punch from a liquid to a solid before transferring it back into the cup.

"It's nice to be able to do that without passing out," he added with a small smile.

Artemis smiled, "It's nice to not worry for a short time." It was true, after all. With Haku here, Mello most likely would not come within five feet of him. Artemis hoped.

"Speaking of worrying," Artemis leaned over the punch bowl and took a small sniff. "This is alcoholic. I can smell it. The one marked 'No' must be non-alcoholic."

"Interesting." He lifted the cup he had and took a cautious sniff himself before setting it down.

"A good thing I am not thirsty then."
